Welcome to Windmill Health Centre Online

This practice is part of NHS Leeds and provides services for patients living within the practice boundary.

In addition to everything you need to know about the practice you will also find a wealth of health-related information in the menu on the right hand side. Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like.

Open Bloods clinics

We are now offering Open Blood clinics on a Wednesday and Friday Mornings from 8am to 11:30am.   If the Doctor has asked you to have a blood test then you can just turn up on the Wednesday or Friday morning, give your name to Reception and then sit and wait, you will be called in as quickly as possible.  This will avoid having to wait to find a suitable appointment slot during the week.  You can still book an appointment at other times if you can't attend the open clinics.

On the Day Appointments

In response to comments from patients, from 1st July we will be opening all of the 'On the day' appointment slots at 8:30am, so there will be no need to call back at 2pm for an afternoon appointment. Please be aware that these appointments will go very quickly and the phones will be very busy at 8:30am. If you have the option to book your appointment online, please use this option where possible to avoid disappointment.

Test Results

Due to the volume of calls, Please call the surgery after 10.30am for Test Results as we will not be able to give the results out beforehand.

Prescription Policy

We do not provide same day prescriptions.

Turn around time for Prescriptions is 2 working days after being received by the Prescribing Team. Time scales may differ from the Pharmacy the patient uses.

Our receptionists are not permitted to process repeat prescriptions to collect on the same day.

Only in exceptional circumstances can a request be put through to the on-call Doctor and it is then at their discretion.

How information about you helps the NHS to provide better care

A modern information system has been developed, which will make increased use of information from medical records with the intention of improving health services.

Your date of birth, full postcode, NHS Number and gender rather than your name will be used to link your records in a secure system, managed by the Health and Social Care Information Centre. Once this information has been linked a new record will be created. This new record will not contain information that identifies you. The type of information shared, and how it is shared, is controlled by law and strict confidentiality rules.

The new system will also provide information that will enable the public to hold the NHS to account and ensure that any unacceptable standards of care are identified as quickly as possible.

Click on the link below to download a patient leaflet which will give you more detail. If you do not want information that identifies you from being shared outside your GP practice, please ask to speak to the Practice Manager and they will make a note of this in your medical record.
